RIDE SUPPORTERS
I always use my rides to raise funds for charities I have a particularly strong belief in. It gives me great satisfaction on completion of a ride that I have successfully completed a challenge I have set for myself - and the knowledge that significant funds have been raised for a worthwhile charity - in this case the Fred Hollows Foundation.
This ride has resulted in almost $10,000 being raised for The Fred Hollows Foundation!!
As an on-going thing I speak to small groups in return for a donation - so hopefully in the coming months this will become $10,000 instead of "almost" $10,000.
MAJOR SUPPORTER - TAYLOR BOWLS - SCOTLAND

While all amounts contributed, big and small, help make the total grow, I must convey special thanks to my "major" supporter for this ride Taylor Bowls. It might seem odd that here I am a cyclist and my main supporter manufactures lawn bowls. However, my approach to them came because Pat Williams my support driver is an avid lawn bowler, and when I learnt that Taylor Bowls (that are very popular here in Australia) are actually made in Scotland where I was to spend 9 days of my journey - I decided to approach this company. I was delighted to discover that they did "Factory Tours" of their Glasgow manufacturing plant, and I have to say that this was an absolute highlight of the trip!!
Their support came in the form of providing us with a wonderful tour of their factory and then the surprise presentation to Pat of a set of Taylor Vector lawn bowls in the very latest "plum" colour.
She was overwhelmed, I was overwhelmed, and we thank Taylor Bowls very much for this wonderful gesture of support to the Fred Hollows Foundation.
I wish to thank Sales Director Vicky Goldie and Angela Millar - Factory Tour and Visitor Centre Manager for their wonderful hospitality and support.
